God be with his loving wife Lisa Nieme and his family because they have lost a family member where we lost a great entertainer. Rest in peace Patrick and you will not be forgotten!!!

One thing I can say about the new first lady is that Michele Obama has made quite a fashion statement in Washington DC and everywhere else in the country in all reality. I love her style and the fact that she dresses in a fashion that many others could afford instead of only wearing high priced designer clothes. Even her watches make a statement. I’m sure you have heard plenty about her fashion sense but just in case you haven’t, you can check out the New York Daily News and see a wonderful article on both Michele and her fashion sense.

One thing that I think will be under a lot of Christmas trees this Christmas is the toy watch. Have you seen them? They are absolutely a fashion statement that most women and girls will be dreaming of for Christmas. I would call them the next the Fashion Bomb of the season. I know I would love to have one so maybe I’ll have to buy myself one or add it to my Christmas list to Santa. You still believe in Santa don’t you? Well if not, you can expect a lump of coal in your stocking instead of the toy watch you were hoping for.

Yesterday, I kid you not, my thermometer in my car said it was 100 degrees around 3:30 in the afternoon. The day before that, it was about 97 I believe the weather guy said. Talk about hot, man was it ever those two days. That’s the kind of weather that makes you think about going to Alaska on a cruise or something.

Well today, guess what the temperature has been? It hasn’t gotten out of the 70’s. Now how crazy is that? It feels so very much better than the last two days but that’s over a 20 degree drop. I even think they said over the next couple of days, the mid 80’s is the highest we will see. That doesn’t hurt my feelings at all.

There’s nothing I hate more than taking a shower, fixing my hair and make-up only to walk out of the door to go to work and everything just melts!! Do you know what I mean?

I was reading an article May 23rd on MSN about a very brave little boy. He was in the back seat of his fathers pickup truck with his 3 year old little brother when all of a sudden his father passed out from low blood sugar. The little boy climbed up to the front seat and sat on his fathers lap who was slumped over in the seat. Luckily his fathers foot came off of the accelerator but the truck was still going about 10 miles per hour. Here’s his amazing story!!

Other drivers noticed the boy driving the truck. Some maneuvered their vehicles in front or behind the pickup and turned on their emergency blinkers. Tustin remained at the wheel for several blocks, even turning around when he got into a neighborhood he didn’t recognize.

He was then spotted by North Platte officer Roger Freeze. Freeze maneuvered his car near enough that he could stop, get out and run up to the pickup. The driver’s side window was down, so Freeze reached in, grabbed the gearshift and rammed it into park. North Platte Police Chief Martin Gutschenritter praised his officer and young Tustin. “I will be issuing him a departmental citation for his quick, professional action on this case. That is also a very special young man. He was able to take quick action when his dad was incapacitated, and we are very proud of him, too,” Gutschenritter said.

Tustin’s dad was grateful to Freeze as well. “To chase down a moving vehicle and get it stopped the way he did took a lot of nerve, and if it weren’t for him, things could have turned out much worse.” For a kindergartner, Tustin did a pretty good job of driving. The pickup sustained only a minor scrape when it brushed a piece of a bridge as Tustin turned to head back into town. When he saw his dad “fall asleep,” Tustin said, he got scared, then got another fright when officer Freeze appeared at the driver’s window.

But when Freeze brought the pickup to an abrupt halt? “I was just happy,” Tustin said.

Well the price of a barrel of oil fell $1.42 to $51.2. That’s great news if you ask me. The only bad part of that news is that they are swimming in oil because of the high unemployment rate. Friday the government reported that the nation’s unemployment rate rose to the highest rate since late 1983 as employers eliminated 663,000 jobs. That’s not good, not good at all. These poor people can’t afford to go anywhere other than to look for a job or to the grocery store and that’s it.

I sure hope that this stimulus money does something to help and help quick. It’s not just here in the US unfortunately. It seems to be a world wide recession. God help us all!!!

Did you hear about the man who is an Air Force nurse that was charged in the death of 3 people? He gave them lethal doses of medications that caused their deaths. That’s playing God and he has no right to do that. These were human beings and not animals that you have ‘put down’ because they’re sick or suffering. I was totally appalled by this story.

SAN ANTONIO – An Air Force nurse has been charged with giving lethal amounts of medication to three terminally ill patients in his care, military officials said Tuesday.
Capt. Michael Fontana, 35, was formally charged in military court with deliberately giving three Wilford Hall Medical Center patients lethal amounts of medication, and with conduct unbecoming an officer for allegedly changing a medical document.

The Air Force began investigating after another staff member at the San Antonio hospital discovered irregularities in Fontana’s administration of medications that may have resulted in the death of a terminally ill patient, Air Force spokesman David Smith said.

The investigation, which began in August, revealed that two other patients in Fontana’s care may have received lethal amounts of medication. Fontana was removed from duty as soon as the irregularity was reported, Smith said.

Wilford Hall, at Lackland Air Force Base, is the Air Force’s largest hospital. It primarily serves military personnel and retirees but provides emergency and trauma care to some civilians.

Relatives of Fontana’s patients were notified of the investigation, Smith said, but he declined to provide any details about them, citing federal privacy laws.

An Article 32 hearing, the military equivalent to a grand jury proceeding, will be conducted in the next few weeks, and the commander will decide whether the case goes to court martial.

This morning a plane went down in Montana killing everyone on board. There were several children on the plane too. In fact, there were 7 children killed in the crash. The thought of what those children went through just hurts to much to think of. My heart goes out to the families of these people. Here’s the story, or part of it.

BUTTE, Mont. – The single-engine turboprop airplane that crashed just short of Butte airport jerked to the left before nose-diving into a cemetery, killing all 14 people aboard, a witness said Monday. Kenny Gulick, 14, told CBS’ “The Early Show” on Monday that he thought he was watching a stunt plane because the pilot was making so many turns. “He jerked the plane to the left too quickly and lost control of it, but that’s just my guess,” said Gulick. “And all of a sudden it went into a nosedive. I noticed the pilot trying to pull up but he was extremely low to the ground and he didn’t pull up in time.”

Snow was falling gently Monday as investigators gathered before dawn at the scene of the crash in Holy Cross Cemetery, 500 feet short of Bert Mooney Airport. Seven investigators wearing National Transportation Safety Board jackets were walking around the area, pausing in places, in the 28-degree weather. The death toll was confirmed by Karen Byrd, a Federal Aviation Administration operations officer in Renton, Wash. Earlier, the count had been put as high as 17.

The plane, a Pilatus PC-12, was believed to be taking its occupants on a ski trip to Montana. “We think that it was probably a ski trip for the kids,” Fergus said. The Pilatus PC-12’s capacity is 12 adults. It was not known whether the extra people aboard was a factor in the crash, since seven of the victims were children.

That name causes a lot of peoples blood to boil as it should. He’s has a new home now and one that he won’t get to live in long enough if you ask me and the people that he stole their life’s savings from. He deserves to be punished more than just sitting in a jail cell for the rest of his life which at his age, probably won’t be nearly long enough.

Now I honestly think they need to take everything he and his wife had and give it to the families he took it from to begin with. She can say that’s her money till the cows come home and it’s not!!! She doesn’t work unless you want to call standing by her man while he takes from everyone a job. But you know what, that’s my opinion and I am just so sick of the greed in this world that I could scream. No one seems to give a happy crap about anyone at all anymore and that’s a crying shame!!!!

MSNBC.MSN had a cute story on it today about Colonel Sanders in Japan. It seems that his statue was stolen over 20 years ago and has now been found.

TOKYO – He was covered in mud when pulled from the river, and had lost both legs and hands, not to mention his glasses. But Colonel Sanders still had his trademark smile, 24 years later.

A statue of the KFC mascot has been found in a river in Osaka, a city official said Wednesday, nearly a quarter century after being tossed in by crazed baseball fans who felt the image of restaurant founder Harland Sanders resembled a key team member.

“He was apparently found standing upright, which is fitting, because although he was a nice man he could also be very strict and demanding,” said Sumeo Yokakawa, a spokeswoman at the chain’s Tokyo headquarters.

There is plenty more to the story so if you want to know more about it, just go to MSNBC.MSN and you can find the whole story there. I personally love KFC but it was Kentuckey Fried Chicken when the Colonel was in command.
