Eight babies at once, that’s a litter!

Oh my goodness a woman in California had eight babies at once. I’m sorry and don’t mean to offend anyone but that’s a litter. I’ve had less puppies from my dogs than she had babies. The funny thing is they thought there were ONLY seven and in the the 5 minutes it took for them to be born, they found the eighth baby. There are six boys and two girls weighing between 1.8 pounds and 3.4 pounds.
Two of the newborns – the world’s second live-born set of octuplets – were initially put on ventilators, but their breathing tubes have been removed.
“All babies seem to be stable,” Dr. Karen Maples, chief of the department of obstetrics and gynecology told NBC’s TODAY. “All of them are now breathing on their own and are no longer requiring ventilators.”
Absolutely amazing, don’t you think? They are only the second set of octuplets that have been born in the United States. The other set were born 10 years ago but lost one of the babies just a couple of weeks after it was born. If these all live, they will be the only living octuplets. I wish them all well and the parents too. I sure hope they live close to a lot of relatives that will help with all of them. That’s a lot of work they are in for.
