Equality between genders

I was reading an article about equality between genders on The Economic Times website. The article was talking about how women in developing countries are lacking behind men in their opportunities for education and for good paying jobs. I don’t think that is an issue confined only to developing countries, although it seems pretty clear that the problem exists there. I think that this is an issue everywhere – I don’t know of anyplace that treats women equal to men with the exception of some work places that have been forced through labor negotiations to treat women equal to men.
So I think this is an age old issue that will take a very long time to change around. Women should not be treated as inferiors in status or in wages.
